The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago (ICATT) and the Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Bank Limited (TTMB) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a collaborative framework to promote financial education, responsible home ownership and investment awareness among ICATT’s members and registered students.

The signing took place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at TTMBs Head office in Port-of-Spain. Representing ICATT was Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Marsha Caballero, and representing TTMB was Chief Executive Officer (Ag), Mr. Brent Mc Fee.

Under the MOU, the two organisations will work together on educational and member engagement initiatives, including seminars, webinars and resources focused on personal financial management, mortgage readiness, responsible borrowing and long-term wealth creation. The agreement also provides a structured way for eligible ICATT members to learn about, and apply for, TTMB’s mortgage, investment and related services. Any application remains subject to TTMB’s policies, underwriting standards and approval processes.

Speaking on the significance of the agreement, ICATT CEO Marsha Caballero said, “Our members guide organisations through complex financial decisions every day, and we want to make sure they have the knowledge and support to make the same sound decisions for themselves and their families. This MOU opens the door to practical education on home ownership and investment, while ICATT remains independent and committed to the public interest.”

TTMB CEO (Ag) Brent Mc Fee added, “At TTMB, our purpose extends beyond providing financial solutions. We are committed to helping people build secured futures, create lasting legacies and realise their aspirations. We are therefore proud to join with ICATT, an institution that shares our belief in the power of education, professionalism and responsible stewardship, to advance a common goal: empowering people to make better financial choices and achieve greater financial wellbeing.”

The MOU is non-exclusive, and both institutions retain their full independence, governance and regulatory responsibilities. A Joint Working Group with representatives from both organisations will meet at least annually to review progress and shape an Annual Collaboration Programme of agreed initiatives. The MOU takes effect on signing and remains in force for an initial period of three years.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment by ICATT and TTMB to improve financial capability and support the long-term financial resilience of Trinidad and Tobago’s accounting professionals.
